X for Xenophobia and Xenophilia

You will be amazed if you knew how less words starts with ‘x’. I was! I just quickly combed through my entire dictionary on ‘x’. But I landed on a gold mine!

Xenophobia – one unduly fearful of what is foreign and especially of people of foreign origin

Xenophilia – one attracted to foreign things (as styles or people)

It’s just these two words says a lot. Let’s start with phobia. It’s common to be threatened by what is not us, there’s nothing wrong with that. How we react to it?, that’s what really matters. If we let our every insecurities and unreasonable fears dictate our actions, world would be a very ugly place. Not everyone is pure of heart and feels equal about everyone, but it doesn’t mean we have to act the same way. We may not control our thoughts all the time but we control our actions. So push the phobias away and let’s make the world a better place!

So if fear is wrong, does that make unreasonable attraction a crime too?

Doesn’t have to be. As long as we don’t hurt anyone, I say nothing is wrong. In spite of the what law says. If you like something, then what does it matter if there’s a reason or not. There’s one thing in this world, which I know, doesn’t need any reason. Spreading love!
