Day – 17 – Poem – Contrast & Oxymoron

I heard this loud whisper

A blunt knife

Piercing my ear

My soul

My mind

Seeking itself out

From within me

To be freed on to the paper cage

Locked with dried ink

Fluttering in the air

To be catched by the eye

Of a soul with an appetite

For things true and blue

To serve the purpose

Not of its own

But of everyone’s

It’s the irony of destiny

To free one’s soul

Only to gather dust soon

It’s the irony of destiny

Of a good old poem

                                      ~

Oxymoron- placing two contradictory words together.

Contrast- placing two contradictory thoughts together to emphasize a different meaning.
